01What we take down

Shed, garage and mobile home demolition

Micro Man is a small demolition company. We take down small buildings within about 30 miles of Charlestown, Indiana: mobile homes, single-story houses, garages, sheds and decks. A mini excavator pulls it down, the debris goes straight into one of our roll-offs or the trailer, and the lot is left clean. We do not tear down two-story houses; we only take the jobs we are best suited to complete.

Because we rent dumpsters too, one phone number covers the teardown and the haul off. Paula Atkins had us do both and wrote: “They came when they said they would, worked non-stop, charged exactly what they said they would!!”

Mobile homes

We do a lot of mobile homes. We take the structure down, load the debris into our own roll-off, and haul it all off. Steve Gardner had a double wide removed and wrote: “He showed up when he said he would and did an outstanding job.”

Ask us when you book and we will go over what needs to happen before the teardown starts and who you call. Our mobile home demolition page covers title, taxes and permits.

Single-story houses

We tear down single-story houses, with the debris loaded into our own roll-off parked beside the house. Jenny Cox had us demo a home and a barn and wrote that “the area was left in good condition.” We do not tear down two-story houses. See house demolition for what to send us.

Garages, sheds and decks

An old garage, a falling-down shed or a rotted deck comes down the same way. Corey Ingram had us take down a 46x24x15 barn and wrote that less than 36 hours later there was “nothing left but a foundation.” See garage and shed demolition and deck removal for what to send us.

Permits depend on the town. Jeffersonville requires a permit to demolish “accessory structures,” Sellersburg issues wrecking permits, and Georgetown has its own demo permit form. For regulated teardowns, Indiana’s IDEM asks for a demolition notice at least 10 working days ahead; it says noncommercial residential buildings with four or fewer dwelling units, such as homes, are exempt from its asbestos rules. Your town page names the office.

Needed a 46x24x15 barn demo and removed. Came out and less than 36 hours later (only delayed because landfill closed at 4pm) nothing left but a foundation.

What buildings will you tear down?

Small ones: single-story houses, mobile homes, garages, sheds and decks. We do not tear down two-story houses.

Corey Ingram had us take down a 46x24x15 barn and wrote that afterward there was “nothing left but a foundation.”

Do I need a permit to tear down a garage or shed?

Often, yes, and it is set by your town or county. Jeffersonville, for example, requires a permit to demolish “accessory structures.”

Your town page names the office to call.

Is there a state notice before a demolition?

For some jobs, yes. Indiana’s environmental agency, IDEM, asks for a demolition notice at least 10 working days before a regulated teardown starts.

IDEM says noncommercial residential buildings with four or fewer dwelling units, such as homes, are exempt from its asbestos rules. Not sure? Ask us when you book.

Where does the debris go?

Into our own roll-off or trailer, and off to the landfill. You do not need a separate dumpster company.

Jenny Cox wrote: “the area was left in good condition.”

Can you take down a mobile home?

Yes. We do a lot of mobile homes. See mobile home demolition.

Steve Gardner had us take down a double wide and wrote: “He showed up when he said he would and did an outstanding job.”

How much does it cost to tear down a garage, shed or mobile home?

Each teardown is quoted by phone or text before we start, and photos help, because size, materials and access change the job. Text photos and the address to (812) 207-7155.

Paula Atkins wrote that we “charged exactly what they said they would!!”

Do you still do excavation?

Mostly no. Our owner found he could not do it all and stay efficient, so we have cut out most excavation and focus on dumpsters, junk removal and small teardowns.

If someone else is a better fit for your dig, we will point you to them.

Got a building that needs to come down?
