Garage and shed demolition

Garage, shed and barn demolition in Southern Indiana

Old garages, sheds and barns pulled down with a mini excavator, loaded into our own roll-offs and hauled away.

01What we take down

Garage and shed teardown with the haul off included

Micro Man tears down old garages, sheds and barns within about 30 miles of Charlestown, Indiana. A mini excavator pulls it down, the debris goes straight into one of our roll-offs or the trailer, and the lot is left clean. Because we rent dumpsters too, one phone number covers the teardown and the haul off.

Corey Ingram called us after a referral, because his job was a little too much for the company he first contacted: a 46x24x15 barn. He wrote that we showed up early, and that less than 36 hours later there was “nothing left but a foundation.”

What to send us before the teardown

Photos tell us most of what we need. Send one of each side of the building, one of the path from the road, and one of anything close to it: a fence, a power line, a tree or the house.

Empty the building of what you want to keep before the day. Anything left inside comes down with it, and paint cans, fuel, tires and chemicals have to come out first, because they can’t ride to the landfill. Your town page lists where those can go.

The slab and the lot afterward

Most garages and many sheds sit on a concrete slab. Some owners keep the slab for a new building or a parking pad; others want it gone. We haul concrete when we are the ones loading it, so tell us which you want when you text the photos, and we will price it in.

On a job with no slab, the lot is left clean and ready for whatever comes next. If more than one building is coming down, like a shed and an old deck, or a garage behind a mobile home, it can all go in one job.

Permits for accessory buildings

Garages and sheds are accessory structures, and many towns want a permit before one comes down. Jeffersonville requires a permit to demolish them, New Albany’s demolition form lists garages as a residential demolition type, and Georgetown’s demo permit has a box for accessory buildings. Our permit guide lists the office for every town we serve.

How big a garage or barn can you take down?

Single-story garages, sheds and barns. Corey Ingram had us take down a 46x24x15 barn, and less than 36 hours later there was “nothing left but a foundation.”

Text photos and the size, and we will tell you if it is a fit.

Do I need a permit to tear down a garage?

Often, yes. Jeffersonville requires a permit to demolish accessory structures, and New Albany’s demolition form lists garages by name.

Our permit guide lists the office for each town.

Will you take the concrete floor out too?

Tell us when you text the photos. We haul concrete when we are the ones loading it, and we will say up front what the slab adds to the job.

Some owners keep the slab for a new building or a parking pad.

How much does it cost to tear down a shed or garage?

Each teardown is quoted by phone or text before we start, and photos help, because size, materials and access change the job. Text photos and the address to (812) 207-7155.

Paula Atkins wrote that we “charged exactly what they said they would!!”
