01What we do

Old deck teardown, boards hauled the same job

Micro Man takes down old wooden decks within about 30 miles of Charlestown, Indiana. A mini excavator pulls the boards, rails and framing down and away from the house, and everything goes into one of our roll-offs or the trailer for the haul to the landfill. You are left with a clear spot for a patio, a new deck or grass.

The photos further down are from one of our own jobs: a weathered raised deck behind a house, and the mini excavator bringing it down. Send a photo from the yard and one of the house side, with the address, to (812) 207-7155, and we will tell you what it takes.

Working close to the house

A deck is fastened to the house, so the photo of the house side matters most. Clear the deck before the day. Grills, propane tanks, planters, furniture and any paint or stain cans come off first; propane and paint can’t ride to the landfill. Your town page lists where those can go.

Tear it down yourself, or have us do it

Some owners want to take the deck apart themselves over a few weekends. A 15 or 20 yard dumpster rental comes with 2 weeks included at no extra cost and is set where you point, as close to the deck as the truck can safely reach. Text us when it is full and we haul it.

If you would rather it be gone in one visit, we bring the machine and the roll-off and do the whole thing. If the deck is part of a bigger job, like an old shed or garage on the same lot, it can all come down together.

Can you take down a raised deck?

Yes. A raised deck comes down the same way as a low one: the mini excavator pulls the boards and framing down and away from the house.

Text photos of the deck from the yard and from the house side.

Should I rent a dumpster and take the deck apart myself?

You can. A 15 or 20 yard dumpster rental comes with 2 weeks included, so you can take it apart at your own pace.

If you would rather it be gone in one visit, we tear it down and haul it.

How much does deck removal cost?

Each deck is quoted by phone or text before we start, and photos help, because the size, the height and how close it sits to the house change the job. Text photos and the address to (812) 207-7155.

In the owner’s words: “I’m not the cheapest but I do exactly what I say I will every time!”
